Notes: This book is an easy read for anyone 13 years up language-wise. However, the content covered in this book is for a more mature audience. None of the stuff I put in the content warning is explicitly described but it is still discussed throughout the book. So if you are unsure if you can handle it maybe read it when you get older. However, I fully recommend that you read this book at some point in your life.

Short Summary: A dystopian novel in which Handmaids like Offred are expected to and are only valued if they bear children. Offred struggles with the transitions of society as she can remember a time when she had choices and now she's just trying to survive.

Summary: This book is set in a dystopian world. A world in which women are only valued for the children that they bring into the world. This novel follows the perspective of Offred, a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. It follows her journey as society begins to transition into a place where women are no longer allowed to have careers, choose their own clothes, or learn how to read. Offred remembers the times that she had with her husband Luke and with her daughter as she tries to deal with this new reality. But now she's just trying to make sure she survives, trying to make sure she doesn't lose her sanity, and trying to make sure she is not taken away like so many others.
